My name is Andrew Bouchard, and I am a producer, editor, screenwriter, and director currently located in Blainville, Québec, Canada. Although I produce most of my productions as machinimas for Halo 3, like "System Break" or "Stratagems", I am also well experienced and knowledgeable in creating live action shorts. Below, you will find updates on my current and future projects, as well as selected filmography to the left.

Video: System Break: S01E01 - "Probable Cause, Pt. I"

Hey,

Added a little while ago was the pilot episode to "System Break", which can be viewed here. I'm currently trying to get it uploaded to Machinima's website, but there seems to be problems. Anyway, I'm not sure when I'd start filming (the script and voices are already done), but it should be sometime in the near future, since I'm busy working on a film for next year's Toronto Student Film Festival. As you may or may not know, 6 minutes of film takes a LOT of time if the result is to be good...

Thanks,
Andrew

P.S.: The first season will be reduced to 6 episodes, so it could be on a "trial run". If it picks up, the remaining 7 episodes will be aired as "Season 2" for a total number of 13 episodes, the run of a normal season.

News: Bourbon Street reboot

Hey,

I know it's been a while, but it's for a good reason. Once I posted the "series promo" for Bourbon Street, it lacked a good storyline in the beginning, although it would have gotten better. So, the other series I was planning, entitled "System Break", has pretty much taken over my schedule.

I decided that since Bourbon Street took off on the wrong foot, that I would merge (yes, again) that series along with System Break, using the great ideas from both, and making sort of a "superseries". Though with new characters, their personalities are virtually identical to those about to be used in Bourbon Street.

Voices are done cutting, maps are currently being forged in Halo 3, and post-production should be completed in the next week and a half or so.

A clean, copyright-free version will be posted on YouTube and Machinima for general viewing, but my vision, as in the "director's cut", will feature all the music I would have liked to put inside, regardless of copyrights, and will be posted on Facebook for my newly-created group, which is still a work-in-progress, but will get to my taste over time.

So, yeah. Just a heads-up.

Thanks,
Andrew

Video: "Bourbon Street" promo up on Machinima

Hello,

The promo is finally uploaded to Machinima's website. It took a while since they've been working a lot on E3, so their normal schedule was delayed. If you'd like to see the Machinima version, with the few minor tweaks, you can watch it here.

Thanks a lot,
Andrew

News: Bourbon Street season changes

Hey again,

I've decided that, since I'm planning another series on the side (not titled yet), that I'll put Bourbon Street on more of a trial run basis. So, I'll reduce the number of episodes this season by about half, from 13 to 6. If it picks up from there, the remaining episodes will be aired as "Season 2". This shouldn't really alter the storyline.

Adieu,
Andrew

Video: "Bourbon Street" series promo

Hey,

The series promo for Bourbon Street was posted a little while ago on my YouTube account, but is still awaiting upload on Machinima (it can be viewed here). I edited two things on the Machinima version (I added a fade-out in the middle of the video, and changed the "Coming June 2010" to "Coming Soon" at the end). Also, I just moved a few weeks ago from Laval to Blainville (both in the province of Québec in Canada, as you may or may not know), which is about 15 minutes north by car on the mainland, so that didn't help with the video upload delay time.

I finished the promo on May 27th, while I started moving boxes on May 28th, all the way into the early hours of May 31st, although moving day was on May 30th. As you can see, things were quite tight.

Thanks,
Andrew

P.S.: Sorry for the big gap in updates.

Video: Corrupt Blood

Hey guys,

The short film I made in part with a few people at school for the Toronto Student Film Festival (it took place on April 24) has been uploaded and can be viewed here. It is live action, so this is a little different compared to what's already up here, though I still have a HUGE library of great live action short films I have yet to add.

Thanks a lot,
Andrew

P.S.: I know the trailer for Bourbon Street was supposed to be up last weekend, but I decided to make it the first few minutes of the pilot instead (as a "promotional piece"). It should be up by tomorrow.

News: Main theme completed

Hey all,

I just finished the main theme for Bourbon Street. It's quite simple, really, as is the case for most of the shows today, machinima or not, but it's actually very good, and fits the series well, too.

The trailer should be up this weekend (I have a long 3-day weekend starting Friday to work on the show), and, hopefully, the pilot could be uploaded also this weekend, but don't expect it by Saturday if it is.

So, yeah. Just a heads-up on what's going on!

Thanks,
Andrew

News: "Bourbon Street" script finished

Hey,

I've completed the script for the first episode of Bourbon Street last week, but I was quite busy with school recently, and also with a trip to Toronto this weekend for a movie of mine included in an international film festival, for which I won an award for "Best Editing". I'm really happy for that.

I'm planning to complete the maps during the week for the show, start and finish acting out the gameplay, and should be completed sometime next week with a release date around the same time.

A series premiere is a lot of work. If I'm going to continue Bourbon Street for another three seasons, for example, it's got to be the way I like it. I have to enjoy it, as well as satisfying the audience.

Thanks,
Andrew

News: New series updates

Hey,

I was planning small things here and there for an upcoming machinima series entitled "The Option", in which the first season basically revolved around a retired U.S. Marshal who returns to service after the killer of his friend is found. He's not only returning him to justice, but goes out on a personal vendetta against this man planning a nuclear extortion plot.

Well, it turns out that I never had enough time to get any meat on the series itself. I also had something else planned that would bear a striking similarity to "The Option" in terms of storylines and character conflicts that would be called "Bourbon Street". I had planned to make this a feature-length film released on the web as a 13-part miniseries. Since these two projects resemble each other so much, I made a decision to merge them, and take the best ideas of both, while keeping Bourbon Street's title. The Option's storyline would generally prevail, excluding the character and organisation names, and it would be a series containing 13 episodes per season. I'll put it on a trial run of one season, and I'll definitely complete the season, even if it isn't doing too well. At least I would've tried.

"Bourbon Street" came from the idea that a number of the main characters spent most of their lives on the New Orleans road. They are also stationed there as part of the American Army.

I'm pretty sure I have something on this series, and it could be a potential success. I'm currently writing the script for the pilot episode, entitled "In The Beginning...", which was the name for The Option's first episode.

Thanks,
Andrew

Video: Stratagems

Hey again,

The "film festival" six-minute version of Stratagems has been uploaded, and can be viewed here.

Thanks,
Andrew

P.S.: I won't be posting updates to the blog for a while, as I'm finishing off some major work for high school. A more calm period of time (around April) should be coming along soon where I'm not so busy, so I can finally compose something for a script.

News: Blog up and running

Hey,

It's about time! Finally, I get to enjoy the site. I guess the format that you see now is pretty much the final result of the blog. I hope you all like it. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to detail as much on the site. I just wanted something basic, not cheesy, and very user-friendly. A very easily-accessible site, you know?

That's about it. I can't really throw a party for the website, so this will have to suffice.

Thanks,
Andrew
